Rebecca delivered her baby girl, Amelia Jayne Tucker, on September 8th, 2021. When she arrived, she was not breathing well and was immediately taken to the NICU. What should have been one of the most exciting and joyous days for a family quickly turned into a time of fear, heartache and unknown.

It was discovered that Amelia was born was a major heart defect creating a hole in her heart along with a defective tube that connects her heart to her lungs. She is going to need multiple open heart surgeries, and will have to see a cardiac doctor her entire life. She will be in the NICU for over a month, longer if surgery is delayed for any reason. She certainly has a long road ahead of her but all the nurses say she is a fighter!!

If you know Rebecca, you know what a wonderful person she is. She and her husband (Arthur) have been married 10 years and also have a 4 ½ year old named Rori! Rori has not gotten to meet her sister yet, since the NICU is parents only and they are very strict about it. Arthur had to go back to work right away to save his vacation for when Amelia has surgery…
