Hello,

On the 13th of February Abi and James, Amelia's parents, got the news no parent should have to hear. Their daughter has Leukaemia.

Amelia was a happy and healthy 3-year-old living with her Mum and Dad in Widnes, spending time playing with her dog Bruno, enjoying playing and learning with friends at childcare and Super excited to be a big sister, with Abi and James due a new addition in June 26.

A couple of weeks before the diagnosis Amelia hurt her leg, this was treated as a toddler fracture but didn't seem to be getting any better and she became pale, withdrawn and was wary of moving and playing as she usually did. After trips to A & E, doctors, high temperatures that got passed off as virials and appointments booked too far ahead Amelias parents took Amelia to Alder Hey hospital on the 12/2/26 were doctors and nurses worked fast and diagnosed Amelia, after blood tests and her first bone marrow aspiration and lumber puncture to confirm, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL)

Amelia has a tough and long treatment plan ahead, 25 months long but with setbacks this can be slightly longer. This consists of different blocks of treatment with different chemotherapy drugs and steroids. She has to have lots of blood tests, bone marrow aspirations and lumber punctures to monitor her condition and effectiveness of treatment.

Amelia and her family's life have been flipped upside down, a time where they should be on countdown and excited to welcome the newest addition is filled with uncertainty, hospital trips, loneliness (due to treatment Amelias immune system is too low for her to be able to see her friends and family), long working days for dad so they can afford to pay the bills and lost time for amelia to grow up with her friends and age group.

We are trying to raise money to help Amelia and her family, whether that's to help with the fuel back and too to the hospital, money to buy Amelia some toys to keep her entertained, Money to take the pressure off so Mum and Dad can be by her side for treatment without the worry of bills or for her family to treat themselves.

Unfortunately, Abi and James are going through the worst thing imaginable as parents and any support is welcomed.
