Amber's Journey: Overcoming Health Challenges

My name is Amy Heckert and I am raising money for my niece Amber. She has been undergoing some extremely hard times due to serious medical issues and life tragedies. She is currently in the hospital and under extreme pain. She had lumbar fusion done from L3 to L6 and during the surgery they fractured her vertebra while putting in a screw. They are telling her that it is possible the vertebra will completely break and will have to undergo this surgery again. Her right leg is numb and very weak after the surgery. Her left leg is also very weak and she is having trouble walking. She will also have to go to a rehab facility before letting her go home. She has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disorder, rheumatoid arthritis, retrograde levo scoliosis arthralgia of the skin and limbs and failed back surgery syndrome. She has multiple episodes of syncope a month and is unable to work. Needles to say this is starting to affect her mental state. She has already undergone extensive surgeries that have failed. She has had nerve blocks, ablations, spinal cord stimulation trial, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion and lumbar laminectomy. She has also had her ACLS replaced in both knees in the past so it makes it even more difficult for her to walk and stand. A little bit of a back story is she lost her fiance to cancer and then her sister-in-law passed away on her couch. Then a week later her grandmother passed. It was not too long after that and she lost her job due to her medical situation. Thankfully she now has a very supportive boyfriend by her side. He also has a daughter that he takes care of. As you can imagine living on one income this day and age is very hard and then add all the extensive medical bills and extra expenses from being in the hospital. They are needing help with paying rent, electric bills and gas. Amber is the type of person that never asks for help. She is the one that always gives the help. Anything you could give would be very helpful and appreciated. Also, we are asking for prayers.
