Amber Dean and sons

On October 9 2017, Isaac Timothy Dean of Reva VA, passed away at 24 years old leaving his two sons pictured here. Wesley is 5 and Ezra is 2. He was married to my daughter for 6 years at the time of his passing. His passing has placed a financial burden on my daughter that is hard to fathom how to overcome. I'm helping by paying her electric bill and rent, but I'm not in a position to do much more. She does have a job, but her bills far exceed her pay. We found out yesterday her car payment hasn't been paid for 2 months (he paid the bills) and the interest rate is 20%. Last night we tried to get a new used car, with me cosigning (I have excellent credit but no extra money), only to find out it's not doable because of the negative equity.

He left no money for her and the boys and we dont know how she is going to make it. It seems insurmountable as I write this. She's applying for SS benefits, but appearantly that could take up to two months. She's also applied for food stamps and home heating assistance. Then having to deal with his death and the fact that the two boys pictured above have lost their dad.... it's overwhelming.

As their grandpa, I'm trying to help as much as I can. But I can only do so much. It's tough to have them around and  not cry in front of them, knowing that they'll never know him but through pictures/videos and stories. 

Obviously, money doesn't and never will solve that. But my daughter's financial obligations far exceed hers and our ability to meet them.

It's a burden that I hope you can help with.
