Amanda's Hope for Justice Trip

Donation protected
It always amazes me when opportunities surface at just the right time. For years I have always had it on my heart to do a service trip that would take me further then maybe I felt comfortable. I said to myself I would wait until my kids were grown. As destiny would have it, I was selected, out of almost 200 applicants, to go to Cambodia and serve with Hope for Justice in October, the same month my youngest turns 18 years old.

Hope for Justice is a foundation that exists to put a stop to human trafficking, preventing exploitation, rescuing victims and restoring lives. This cause has become deeply important to me for many reasons. I will share a couple with you. My work with women the last 15 years and their newborns is one, and the tremendous losses our friends and family have endured over the last 5 years is another. Some of them being much too young to have died and for reasons only God knows. Loss is a reminder of how precious life is and how short it can be. All lives, near and far. I am also looking forward to sharing what I do as a doula with these amazingly brave and strong young women and how they can support their community in the future.

People have asked me, why not stay here and help people in your own community? I have, and I will continue to. I feel we are called to serve everyone, everywhere, given the chance.

Being selected for this service trip is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. I almost let my fear of the unknown deter me from accepting. It is just too big and too important for me, and you, to say no.

I encourage you to look at the work Hope for Justice has done and see if this is something that compels you to sponsor me. Your love and support will journey with me. You will be there with me in spirit and YOU will be making a difference in the lives of so many.

"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can." John Wesley

Thank you so much for letting me carry a part of your heart with me to Cambodia!
