On the evening of April 5th, 2019, we received tragic news that Amanda Garza’s partner of more than 14 years, Javier, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Javier had taken the lead on providing for his young family while Amanda focused on being a mother to their 1-year-old son, Sebastian.

Amanda has not yet re-entered the workforce and is in need of financial support to keep her family afloat. Amanda and Javier were focused on caring for a new life in their family and didn’t see funeral planning in their near future.

As many can attest, Amanda was the first one to jump in and take care of her family members whenever help was needed, often at some of the saddest moments in their lives. Her willingness to put others before herself also extended to her co-workers. In her position as a leader, prior to making the transition to full-time mother, Amanda would often cut her own hours to be make room in the labor budget for her team members to earn a full week’s pay.

This page is devoted to the effort to repay some of the kindnesses Amanda has time and again put into the world.
