Life is full of twists and turns. Mountains and valleys are part of the journey. Amanda and Kaleb had faced more than one miscarried pregnancies and this was the pregnancy that was to bring HUGE blessings to our families. With much excitement and anticipation, everyone moved forward making plans and dreaming about the future of this little baby boy "Jackson" that Amanda was carrying.
Rewind a few days ago: Thursday, July 25th to be exact. Amanda was 25 weeks pregnant and wound up going in to the hospital for pains thought to be brought on by her gall bladder. While in the hospital, it was discovered that baby Jackson's heart rate was dipping and there were issues with flow to and from her placenta to the baby. It was also discovered that Amanda showed signs of severe pre-eclampsia.
The decision was made to have an emergency c-section that day! Being that Jackson was only 25 weeks along, the medical team at CMMC called on the neonatal team from Maine Med. to come asap to receive Jackson the moment he was delivered because they have a brillliant neonatal care unit and are well trained and equipped for pre-mature births.
Jackson was brought into this world on July 25th, 2019 at 2:47pm weighing 1.1 pound and measuring 10.25 inches long. Every day having Jackson with us was a blessing, but not without its challenges. He was only to be with us for four days, too short for our minds to comprehend.
Amanda and Kaleb are now trying to process and make sense of all that's happened within the week and need continued prayers and support to see them through this difficult journey. We're asking for your help as they face the portion of the medical bills not covered by insurance and two ambulance transports. They've had to purchase a family plot at Gray Cemetery where they can place little Jackson to rest, a headstone / marker as well as funeral expenses.
Please continue to pray for them and the families and thank you for your generous heart to help this beautiful young couple in need.
