Project SOS is an effort by Blawenburg Church to repair, improve, and preserve the physical facilities of the church. We need the community's help to repair and preserve our state and national treasure.
We are hoping to raise $300,000 to accomplish a long list of needed projects that will include repairs and improvements to the exterior of the church including its iconic bell tower, repairs to the internal stairwells, updated electrical wiring, and organ repairs. Our fundraising will take place this fall and winter and we hope to begin our preservation projects in the spring of 2020.
The sanctuary was built in 1830 to help serve the spiritual needs of the local farmers. Today, we hope to preserve the beautiful structure and ensure that it can continue to serve the needs of the growing communities in Blawenburg, Skillman, Montgomery, and the surround areas.
