Dear potential donors,
Thank you for considering to assist our project. Alvord Park Disc Golf Course (APDGC) is a sprawling 18 hole disc golf course I designed 6 years ago at a city park in Torrington CT. Fully volunteer driven, it took 6 years of fundraising, manual labor and community help to create. As the project grew it went from a one man mission to a volunteer community driven effort. The course is free to play to the pubic and maintained by volunteers. Our volunteer maintenance is assisted by Forrester Wilson, Max Hunter, Pete Barwikowski and Darren Blazka, and our course funds are handled by Joe Patnoe. APDGC's 18 holes are fully playable, but we still have many advancements and accommodations we would love the ability to carry out. These projects and expenses include:
-securing a utility shed on site for maintenance tools and mowers
-building stairs from hole 18 back up the hill to hole 1 / parking
-building a footbridge across the bottom of the valley on hole 12
-renew / maintain OB stakes
-helping to relieve existing personal debt for materials totaling $879 (current, but growing)
-landscaping, including bringing in topsoil to bring up ground level around raised tees, planting grass around tees and some greens
-relief funds for volunteers using their own personal equipment to work on the course, as needed
-replacement push brooms as needed for each tee
-yellow vinyl basket wraps for faded green prodigy baskets on the front 9
In addition to the mentioned projects / debts, inevitably more projects are to come, and being financially prepared is incredibly helpful. Any amount that can be spared greatly helps us keep APDGC going, and gets us one step closer to making it
one of the top tournament courses in CT! Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Aaron Knickerbocker
