ALPINE TREK CHALLENGE in support of CHANCE to SHINE STREET

Donation protected
Thank you so much for looking at my fundraising page.

I am excited, albeit a little daunted about this adventure. It will be not only a physical but a mental challenge.

I will be one of 12 people who will take on a Three Peaks Challenge with a differencethese peaks are in The Alps, across both France and Switzerland, with base camp in Chamonix.

The Alpine Trek is 6-10th October 2024.
It will feature around 1,000 metres of elevation gain each day, to summits as high as 2,700 metres – that’s the equivalent of Ben Nevis on top of Ben Nevis !!!!!!

WHY ?
As many people know, I am passionate about cricket, both through my job at Shropshire Cricket, but also as a volunteer at my local cricket club.
CHANCE to SHINE projects aim to take cricket to state schools and communities where children face many additional barriers to play and reap the many benefits of taking part.
CHANCE to SHINE STREET CLUBS are literally held within communities as local hubs for activity, as well as a go to for support of children and young people. This is an opportunity to showcase the impact Chance to Shine Street has had in Shropshire and also raise some much-needed money to help the charity continuing its mission of developing communities through cricket.

Last year I was really privileged to be recognised in the Chance to Shine National Community Cricket Award for my development of Street projects which targeted urban areas in Telford, addressing deprivation and cultural diversity.

Our STREET and COMMUNITY activity continues to grow, with a fantastic team of nurturing and dedicated coaches. Building friendships and trust from communities through the lens of a game I love.
I am challenging myself to build my fitness over the coming weeks, in order to take on the challenge with confidence and enjoy the experience.

I have set a target of raising £2,700.
Along with fellow trekkers- this will fully fund 3 NEW Chance to Shine STREET Clubs for a year.

Over the years, I have tackled the Three Peaks in the UK, the Great North run, and trekked in the Himalayas.
But this is another level again, and I would say I’m not the fittest person, being a 'little older' than when I previously challenged myself. But I will be stepping up my training- literally, concentrating on learning to be ready to 'go again' on tired legs, as the challenge requires.

I’m looking to use climbs up the many peaks within our beautiful County and work towards Mt Snowdon twice in two days, to build my endurance levels . I’m hoping to create blogs along the way to keep people up to date with my progress and hopefully encourage my lovely supporters to sponsor me.”

I have 2 furry friends supporting me on my training, Here's to the many doggy photos.

Thank you again for reading - I appreciate times are hard and donating is a great ask.
An offer of a training buddy on one of my training hikes, is always an option too :)

Much love

Sacha
