Alpha Gamma Delta's philanthropic focus is fighting hunger. We know that food insecurity is a huge problem all around North America and we want to be a part of the solution. One in eight Americans and one in eight Canadians struggle with hunger. It's a cause that knows no bounds. It affects every race, age and community. Including the communities where we are placed. That is why we want to be a part of the solution. Through the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation and partnering with local organizations like the Edmonton Food Bank, we are able to make an impact on our communities.

The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation is a public charity which exists to provide support to our sisters, Fraternity and communities. We value the promise our members make to welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world's work. Supporting the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation is the most influential way to fulfill that promise. Each year, the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation awards scholarships to more than 150 individuals and makes grants to dozens of organizations dedicated to fighting hunger across the U.S. and Canada in support of Alpha Gamma Delta’s philanthropic focus, fighting hunger. Through the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, you are positively impacting the lives of our sisters, the community where you are placed and the future of Alpha Gamma Delta. Together we are transforming lives, empowering women, supporting one another and impacting the world.

The Edmonton Food Bank was born through the realization of two factors recognized by a small number of individuals from various local non-profit organizations: hunger was affecting the lives of many of their clients and edible food was being wasted in the community. There was a desire to reconcile these realities and to establish a channel for surplus food from the food industry to help those who were experiencing food insecurity. Today, the Edmonton Food Bank provides food and services to empower individuals struggling with food security and poverty and helps feed 21,000+ individuals per month, 40% of those being children. By giving to Edmonton's Food Bank you are not only feeding people but giving hope and creating a kinder community.
