If you remember Almond, she barely escaped the devastating fate of losing her puppies right before giving birth. Thanks to your support, we were able to get her the emergency care she needed just in time, and she safely delivered her babies.

Sadly, things have become much more complicated since then. This appears to be Almond’s first litter, and because of her suspected past abuse, she has become extremely protective of her puppies. Her foster tried everything possible, but Almond began seeing every person as a threat, making it unsafe to continue caring for her in a home environment.

We knew we had to get professional help quickly. We were able to find an experienced trainer willing to take in Almond and her puppies, provide a safe environment for them, and work on Almond’s behavior while she raises her babies. But this level of care comes at a very high cost. Between boarding, training, food, supplies, and building a secure setup specifically for Almond, expenses will total several thousand dollars each month.
