My name is Emily and my older sister Sarah and her husband Joseph (we call him Joe) have been trying to conceive a baby for almost 3 years now (32 months to be exact). They were married in October 2013 and started trying for a family in January 2014. As most of us know, life doesnt always go as we have so strategically planned. I truly believe; "You can make many plans, but The Lord's purpose will always prevail."-PROVERBS 19:21 But that also doesn't mean our heart doesn't hurt along the way, especially when it's something that your heart desires so badly.

After trying for the first year they began with many appointments for lab work, medications, vitamins, they tried essential oils, and had 3 disappointing failed attempts with IUI. Their OB office finally referred them to an infertility specialtist office and their first appointment was August 30, 2016. After their first appointment they were told their only option at this point would be In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). While this is very exciting for them to finally get answers and the doctor believes the IVF treatment will be successful, it is also very scary and nerve racking for unfortuately their insurance covers $0.00.

Currently only 15 states have laws requiring insurance coverage for infertility treatment and North Carolina is not one of them. Sarah & Joe have been working really hard trying to be debt free and saving over the last 3 years. They are having a yard sale in October to declutter the room that will hopefully be the nursery and raise some extra money. The total cost of IVF is $16-20K. Thankfully, our Dad, Bonus Mom, and Grandma Scinto are willing to help as they can with the cost but the total is still pretty steep. I don't know about you, but the average person does not have $20K laying around. Sarah & Joe have already talked to their bank and got the ball rolling on a personal loan due to the office will not start treatments without payment upfront in FULL.

Since Sarah & Joe are in their 30's and the cost of the treatment is so much, they will be most likely inseminating 2 embryos and it will be likely they could have TWINS or at least increase the chance of one baby! The cost of inserting 2 is no more than 1. However, if they were to only insert 1 and it not survive, they would have to pay another $11K just to redo the procedure.
I don't have any children myself, but it's no secret that having a baby and all the new life expenses that come with add up.
I really wanted to do something for my sister and brother-in-law in this anxious yet exciting time in their life! The last thing I want is for them to stress over their budget while finally becoming parents after 32 months of praying for this blessing(s). I know they would apprecate any help and be SO grateful for anything you feel in your heart to give.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. If you cannot financially give, thats ok, life is hard and I certainly understand. But I do ask to please say a prayer for Sarah & Joe in their journey to become parents and that in a few short months we will be rejoicing in the miracle of their pregency annoucement in a healthy baby, maybe even 2! :)

P.S. Sarah has started a blog to share her thoughts and emotions as she begins IVF. If you want to follow her journey you can do so at...
