On the morning of February 22nd 2026, around 2:00am, an electrical fire started within the walls of Maxton Plaza, a building containing many local Ypsilanti businesses. Despite firefighters best efforts, the fire was not contained, and none of the businesses in the building survived the fire.

One of the massage therapists who practiced in the building, Allison La Chapelle, is a dear friend of mine. Allison's business, Fluidity Massage, was based at Maxton Plaza for nearly 2 years before the fire. She shared the space with another massage therapist, Anna, of Terra Nova Massage.

I made this GoFundMe page to ask friends, family, and community members to share what they can to help Allison and Anna.

Allison and Anna have lost their massage space, income from lost massage appointments, and a significant amount of supplies used in their practice, including expensive furniture and massage tools.
