What We Are Doing
We need your help to ensure City Council hears our message and lifts the moratorium on combative sports before they permanently destroy the very industry they are trying to protect.
All funds raised will be used to support ACE's advocacy efforts to Edmonton City Council and the Alberta Government.
Who We Are
We are boxers, wrestlers, martial artists, trainers, promoters, gym owners and fans. More than that, we are a community. Our passion for combative sports unites and inspires us.
Our community has been devastated by the loss of Tim Hague. It’s been a heavy and constant reminder of just how violent our respective fighting disciplines can be.
We know our sport needs strong oversight. Athletes and their families, along with the entire combative sports community, must have confidence that safety and well-being are ensured to the highest possible degree. That’s why we fully support the inquiry into Tim’s death and acting swiftly to rectify any safety issues it might identify.
But the moratorium on Combative Sports events in Edmonton until January 1, 2019 is not the right decision.
It is ACE's mission to advocate for a more reasonable approach to combative sports in Edmonton.
Firstly, we believe that all stakeholders need to work cooperatively to identify and institute any necessary rule changes to ensure athlete safety.
Secondly, we believe that the moratorium must be lifted by City Council.
