Allen’s Holiday Tip Jar
A Word About Allen’s:Since time immemorial men and women have gathered around a watering hole at the end of a working day.
They have met their spouses there, argued politics there, and watched with crushing defeat as the Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs.
That watering hole for each of us has, and always will be, Allen’s Air Conditioned.
Allen's has withstood Rob Ford, a million taste of the Danforth parties, and endless iterations of Enright brothers.
Whether you blasted Straighten Up and Fly Right on the juke, or sat in the pit while Jason made record time behind the bar, or soaked up the BBQ in the glorious backyard, Allen’s has been our home away from home, our clubhouse, and our boardroom.
In short, Allen’s has always been there for us. The staff, always there for us. Tending to our every need, our every whim, with a smile and a pint, they’ve become like family.
And as this year mercifully winds to a close, we have a chance to be there for them. All 22 members of the Allen's team.
Traditionally, this time of year would be a busy one. As the holiday season ramps up, our holiday gatherings, corporate luncheons and even just a moment’s respite from the cold, would see the place jammed, culminating with the world-famous Customer Holiday Party.
Sadly, not in 2020.
This year, many of our family are facing enormous uncertainty.
So, a few Allen’s Alumni wanted to send a message.
A badly needed message of good cheer and gratitude.
As so many of our Danforth family are heading into the holidays under a citywide lockdown, a couple of us wanted to pass the proverbial hat and kick in a few bucks for Christmas.
We have started this go fund me campaign.
A place where we can all drop in a holiday tip and send a message of love and good wishes.
Should you be so inclined, we invite you to tip what you can. Amalan, the steadfast and upright leader of the whole operation will divide it amongst the front and back of house before December 25th.
And when this is all over, when the time is right, we will all meet on the wood once more, raise our glass and cheer the miserable Leafs, or eat a world-famous hamburger, and be a family once more.
We hope you and your family are safe, and we wish you the very best of the season.
