Hi my name is Sarah and I have had the privilege of having Elder May Sam in my life over the last 4 years. In that time I quickly learned just how incredibly special this woman is and how lucky my family and I are to have the opportunity to love her!

People from across the South Island, lower mainland and world have been deeply blessed by her guidance, kindness, strength, and most importantly her love. If you know May, you know that she doesn't ever say goodbye without first saying she loves you. Her heart is endless.

She leads her life with love, empathy and compassion and always puts peoples needs before her own.

She has always been there for so many of us- whether in community, or time spent the students at UVIC and Camosun.

She spends the majority of her life sharing her teachings and wisdom, offering a helping hand, and holding space when we’ve needed it most.Now, it is our turn to give back.

May's home is in need of much-needed improvements so she can live safely, comfortably, and with dignity. She is receiving support from her community to secure safe housing while her home is assessed but she will need additional funds to help replace furniture, housewares, clothing etc., damaged in her home.

These improvements are essential for her health and wellbeing, and I am asking for May's wider community to come together in support.
