Go All in for Abolition School in 2026!
We’re gonna be honest with you: Abolition School needs your help. Given the threats looming on the horizon, we know that 2026 will be a perilous but pivotal year for our movements. But we also know that we can’t count on elected officials or nonprofits–We Keep Us Safe, and that means throwing down to protect and sustain spaces for revolutionary movement education.
We are up against a lot at the moment: threats from the Trump administration are targeting and criminalizing our movements. The nonprofit sector is under attack, but is also preemptively complying with these threats in ways that will only weaken us all in the long run. 2026 will be a year of transitions for Abolition School, as we seek to lay a solid foundation for our work and confront these threats head-on.
You know us, you know our incredible team of facilitators —Ant, Nneka, Chris, Talia, DJ & Geo. And if you know us you know that we will never back down or water down our work. Abolition means revolution, it means decolonization and land back, it means fighting for economic equality against capitalist greed, it means the dismantling of US imperialism worldwide and the creation of community alternatives from Philly to Palestine and beyond, from every river to every sea.
In the past two years, we have accomplished so much:
- We have taught nearly 250 aspiring community leaders how to understand the world and how to change it.
- Our students have been 40% Black, 45% other POC, the vast majority women, queer, trans, and nonbinary comrades, and represent dozens of partner organizations.
- We have developed a full 12-week curriculum that is available from Common Notions , and we are working with freedom schools and study groups nationwide to put it to use.
- We have developed an Abolition Youth curriculum, delivering it to schools and community centers across the city and reaching hundreds of young people.
- We have developed a hybrid education infrastructure that is currently reaching thousands nationwide and internationally, in collaboration with Haymarket Books.
- We have taken over leadership of Abolition Journal , relaunching it as a Philly-based movement outlet for creative writing and political analysis, with an online pilot and book version coming in the Spring.
- We have helped build solidarity between organizers and movements against the UC Townhomes, the Chinatown Arena, and ICE aggression against our neighbors.
- We have supported organizers working to break the power of the Fraternal Order of Police in Philadelphia
- We have collaborated with partner organizations to host dozens of events, teach-ins, education sessions, and community conversations.
- We have worked collaboratively with political educators nationwide to build a solid front against attacks from the right.
- We have helped to strengthen organizers, to strengthen the organizations they work with, and to strengthen and radicalize our abolitionist ecosystem more broadly.
What’s more, we have done all this for FREE, and we have done it on a shoestring budget. But our work is far from done, and we can’t continue our Spring programming without YOUR support. So today, we’re asking our community to go All In For Abolition School in 2026, to double down on supporting this work so we can continue to support you all!
Every contribution makes a huge difference to the work we do, but here are some specifics on what your donation will directly support:
- $5,000 will fully fund five aspiring revolutionaries for a full semester!
- $2,500 will fund technical support for a full semester of hybrid study!
- $2,000 will support a print run for the Abolition Journal!
- $1,000 will help our Abolitionist Youth Program reach 100 students!
- $500 will provide a monthly stipend for an Abolition School Fellow!
- $100 will buy pizza for one weekly session of Abolition 101!
- $50 will help us build a strong foundation for the future!
We study the world to change it!
