All For Aidan

Hi folks, we’d like to introduce you to Aidan Kenny, a fantastic and brave two-year-old boy from Co. Roscommon. In September last year, Aidan became a big brother to baby Darren. Shortly afterwards, his parents Seán and Deirdre very sadly learned that Aidan was suffering from a rare, incurable condition called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). We are fundraising to help support the Kenny family to give Aidan the best possible care and attention that he needs. 

Aidan has always been a wonderfully playful and curious little lad, who loved playing with his Lego and  being out with dad Seán on the tractor. Since his diagnosis, Aidan has lost the ability to move and now needs to be tube fed but thankfully, he still has his wonderful smile!

He will probably go on to lose his sight, hearing, and much of his cognitive ability. The average life expectancy for an MLD sufferer is 6 years old.




There is sadly no cure for Aidan's condition, but his family are doing everything in their power to make sure that he smiles through the years left in his journey. The level of care that Aidan requires limits Seán and Deirdre’s ability to work at this time. Despite the valuable support they have received from the HSE and the Jack and Jill Foundation, a lot more resources are required to help Aidan make the best of his days.

Our goal is to raise funds to help the Kenny family with their costs, so that they can continue to give their precious boy the time and care he so deserves

Some of the basics are provided but there is a lot more needed to help Aidan make the best of his days. Our goal is to raise funds to help the Kenny family with their costs so Seán, Deirdre and Darren can spend as much time with Aidan as possible.
