Alice's Team Academy Backpacking Fundraiser 2025

My name is Alice and I'm a current senior in the Team Academy. I need your help fundraising so we can continue backpacking and hiking!

The Team Academy is a one of a kind public school alternative, outdoor education program. It runs out of Archie Williams High School. It is an experiential learning model that combines the following: Backpacking, hiking, community service, internships, rock climbing, wilderness medicine, and academic courses in a cohort model environment. It is the ONLY public school program of its kind.

Friends of the Team Program is a non-profit that helps support Team so we can keep backpacking year after year.

I got waitlisted for Team as a junior and accepted off of the waitlist this school year. This meant that I missed three backpacking trips last year. Growing up in Montana, the outdoors have had an enormous impact on my life and continuing to be able to enjoy nature means so much to me. Each of the two backpacking trips I've been on with Team have taught me so much about myself and others. I'm raising money for The Lost Coast trip in the spring and to help future students backpack. Team is a truly unique program and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of it!

Our school district does not pay for any of our trips. We must fundraise for all gear, wilderness guides, transportation, permits and more! We couldn’t do this without your support. We hope to keep Team alive for decades to come and can only do it with your support. Keep Teamies backpacking and growing and learning in the outdoors! Even $5 can make a difference.
