As most of you know, two weeks ago our lives were turned upside down as my 15 year old sister spent 5 days in 3 different hospitals across Massachusetts for what seemed to be unexplainable seizures.

After a long week, Aliah was diagnosed with Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES). In short, her brain struggles to process intense emotions and when the feelings get out of control she falls into a seizure.

As many could imagine, this will cause a big shift in Aliah’s life. In order to help her obtain her independence and still have a normal life of a teenager, our family is asking for help from our friends and families to begin the process of getting her a service dog.

This service dog will be trained to assist in alerting Aliah of an oncoming seizure, as well as ensuring she is safe when she inevitability falls into one.
