A 51 years old woman in the Iowa City community and her daughter need our help. Her husband died suddenly 6 years ago, leaving her behind with a six year old daughter and overwhelmed with unfinished responsibilities -- especially related to the old house he’d purchased for his family.

 

Their 1943 home is riddled with structural issues, basically falling apart. On top of that, they recently discovered a severe case of mold and termites affecting the family’s health. This is all after a $50,000 remodel she did in conjunction with the city. She has $27,000 left to pay back, but still so many problems yet to fix. Her income is minimal and won’t go far on its own.
