Knowsley Harriers Athletics Club’s Charity of the year for 2025 is the amazing Alfie’s Squad - providing support for young people bereaved by suicide.

“Alfie’s Squad is a non-profit organisation founded by 15-year-old Alfie Fitzsimmons. The devastating loss of his father to suicide in May 2017 inspired Alfie to take action and make a difference in the lives of others facing similar challenges.

Our commitment to other children in Alfie’s situation is by offering our unique service utilising team activities in our ‘squads’ to reduce the feeling of isolation, make friends and improve self worth. Our squads are specifically aimed at young people aged 6-17, but will also help parents and carers.

We have recently launched a young adults group for people between the age of 18-25.”
