Alfie William Schoeler - Little Champion

Donation protected

Most people have had a tough year in 2020 but spare a thought for these parents...

Jelicia and Joey welcomed Alfie William Schoeler into the world on 16/09/2020.

This little champion has had a pretty tough start to his life. Jelicia & Joey along with Alfie's two other siblings Ava amd Lyla, have stayed strong and supported  him through the challenges he has faced.

He has L1CAM Sydrome which is an x-linked genetic mutation. His specific mutation has caused severe hydrocephalus (fluid on his brain) and Hirschsprungs Disease (part of his bowel doesn’t work). They believe in the future he may have some form of intellectual impairment as well as potential spasticity in his lower limbs which may cause spastic paraplegia. His future is really unknown.

He’s been in hospital for 6.5weeks out of the 9 weeks of his life so far. He has had 4 surgeries so far to try and sort out the fluid in his brain as well as a surgery to form a colonostomy for his bowel.

Alfie & Mum are currently back in hospital in Brisbane due to a complication with his shunt surgery that was unexpected.  Unfortunately Joey has had to come back to Rockhampton for work, which i know would be tough on him.

On behalf of the Berserker Soccer Club we would like to help this young family out by raising as much money as we can to assist them financially, especially coming up to the Christmas period.

Please donate and share....

Cheers
