Hi, my name is Alex and I am a Life Scout in Troop 424 in Camas, Washington. I have been in scouting since first grade and have been working towards my Eagle Scout award for about 7 years.
I am building a produce washing station for Heritage Farm for my Eagle Scout Project. I chose this project because of my experience volunteering at Heritage Farm where I helped plant a garden which provided produce for a new tiny home village in Clark County. I wanted a project related to food insecurity because of my volunteer experience at the Oregon Food Bank. I was 10 when I first started volunteering at OFB and had completed 100 hours of service by the time I was 14.
At the request of Heritage Farm, I have designed the wash station to break down into three parts for easy transport by a forklift. This will allow it to be moved to any of the growing plots at the garden. Some of the plots at the farm provide produce for local food banks and others experiencing food insecurity.
In order to build the project, I need to raise money for the wood and other items needed for the wash station. I will then manage a team of volunteers to put it together. All of which needs to be finished before I turn 18 on November 21, 2021. I am hoping to reach my financial goal by 10/22 to give me enough time to purchase materials and get the project completed before my birthday.
Your donations will go towards purchasing the materials needed to build this project. Any donation amount is appreciated. Whether or not you can afford to donate at this time, please share this fundraiser on social media to help me achieve my goal.
If I am fortunate enough to raise more funds than are needed for my project, any excess funds will be given to the Heritage Farm to further their efforts in feeding those who are food insecure in Clark County.
Thank you all for supporting me in my goal of achieving the Eagle Scout Rank.
