Hi queer community & allies. This is an urgent & necessary surgery for my friend Alex. This is NOT a cosmetic procedure, this is necessary for him to have his body that he can live in.
TW: s*icidal thoughts, dysphoria, surgery, mental illness.
He is absolutely at his lowest point dealing everyday with painful dysphoria & suicidal thoughts. If we can raise him 5000$ it will be enough with his stimulus check to fund his surgery, travel, stay etc. He is going to therapy & getting as much help as he can but he knows that this surgery will be the only thing to help with the dysphoria.
He has gone through years of extreme workout regimens & strict diets. He has suffered through doctor & therapy appointments to just have been strung along. He has been on hormones for 5 years waiting for fat redistribution that may not ever come. His lower body binder is uncomfortable & isn't doing enough. He has been houseless 3 times while working 2 jobs with school loans, relentless car trouble & bills. He has tried everything & is consistently gaslit by medical professionals into not framing this as a secondary sex characteristic.
He cannot afford the surgery that he desperately needs.
