Alex's Angels: Loving Care for the broken, In memory of Alex

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Terri Klingler. My family (my husband Chuck, and our daughter, Savannah) are raising funds in efforts to help those who are in need, mainly homeless and struggling/battling with the diseases of addiction and mental illness. We are doing so in the honor and memory of our beautiful son, Alex. We tragically lost Alex at 28 years old on April 14th, of 2022 after a long battle with addiction. Through this effort, our family will carry on Alex’s bright light of helping others who are in need.
Alex had a rare lung syndrome that required major surgery when he was just a freshman in high school. Pain medication/management was necessary, however, he was over-prescribed these addictive Opioid medications which led him on the heinous path of addiction. We are so proud of him for bravely seeking help in treatment & recovery, and using his new awareness to help others in similar situations. We are all completely heartbroken and devastated by his loss. Alex is so greatly loved and missed everyday. He is a loving and kind soul who always helped others, even when he was struggling himself. When he was doing well and living in L.A., he would buy food and water for people living on the streets. Afterwards, he would call us saying that, “he felt just like a king for the day!” He was passionate about helping others and truly felt joy in doing so. Alex was an intelligent, talented musician/artist, athlete, gamer and martial artist with an amazing sense of humor, wit and a heart of pure gold. Alex is among thousands and thousands of precious people who have lost their lives to addiction, leaving behind so many devastated families and friends.
Our family has started a not for profit, community based outreach to help others, and we have named it, “Alex’s Angels”. We have purchased one hundred drawstring backpacks to fill with essential items like water, protein bars, emergency blankets, socks, hats, hand warmers, underwear, chap stick and the like, to personally hand out to those who need them (especially in the cold winters of Central MA). Anyone from any family or walk of life could find themselves in a bad situation. In the kind and empathic heart of Alex’s spirit, our family wishes to help those who are experiencing difficult times. Thank you so much for considering giving to our cause, “Alex’s Angels”. Any amount will help and is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Alex’s loving family;
Terri, Chuck, Savannah & Mary
