Dental Mission Trip to Nicaragua
Donation protected
Many people go their whole lives without ever finding their true passion. I was lucky enough to have found my career calling at a very young age. By the time I was thirteen, I knew I wanted to be a dentist.
My first step in pursuing my dream was to get accepted into a school that offers Pre Dental. I was accepted into LSU and chose a major in Biochemistry with a Pre Dental Concentration. I am aspiring to be accepted into dental school in New Orleans upon completion of my undergrad. Dental school programs are very selective. You not only have to have exceptional grades, but you must have high DAT scores, volunteer hours, and a true dedication and heart for the dental field.
I have stumbled upon an opportunity to go on a dental mission trip with International Service Learning at LSU. This mission to Managua, Nicaragua will not only help further my dream of becoming a dentist, but will give me the opportunity to help others less fortunate than I.
One day I hope to open a dental office of my own. My aspiration is to take my office with me on dental mission trips, much like the one I am applying for. This mission trip to Nicaragua will be a hands-on experience working along side local dentists. There will be other pre-dental and pre-med students from LSU there to share this experience with. I am excited for this opportunity to learn and begin preparing for my future.
This trip would mean so much to me, and so much to the ones I would get to help. The cost of the mission trip will be about $2,500. The money needed will cover airfare, food, lodging and all other expenses. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get in covering the total cost. Thank you everyone for your constant support to help me succeed!
