Hi, my name is Alexi I am 17 years old and in July 2025 I have been offered to go on a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Zanzibar in Africa to volunteer with African Adventures. I have always had a keen interest in volunteering and been volunteering for the past couple of years in the UK and I would like to extend this abroad. Whilst in Zanzibar I will be volunteering at a state funded local school with children from age 4-16 years. This school is severely overcrowded and underfunded and shockingly has over 100 students to one class. This affects the quality of education that the students are provided. Whilst I am there, I will be mainly supporting the class teacher during lessons and giving one to one support to the children. I will also be getting involved with some sporting activities and may even turn my hand to helping with some renovation work at the school.

I have managed to save/fundraise £1000 so far. I am looking for any donations however big or small to help me to go on this trip and fund the resources that I wish to take to donate to the school. This school is particularly lacking in the simple things that we all take for granted such as Sanitary wear and clothes and stationary to help the children to read and write. This is why I need your help. Any donation will be appreciated not just by me but also by all the children I will help.
