Alexis and Son Need Your Help for a Fresh Start

Hi, my name is Alexis, and I’m a single mom trying to start over with my son after making one of the hardest decisions of my life.

For the past year, I’ve been stuck in a house that was slowly falling apart — literally. Sale issues, constant repairs, financial stress… it became a place of survival instead of a home. I held onto it as long as I could, hoping things would get better, but they never did. I finally made the decision to sell the house just to escape the weight of it.

I accepted the best offer I could get — not because it was ideal, but because I didn’t have the luxury of waiting. And while I thought selling the house would be the end of my stress, it’s turned out to be just the beginning.

Now, I’m facing unexpected costs that I have no way to cover on my own:

• $3,500 in closing costs that aren’t covered by the sale

• $750 for a termite treatment that’s required before I can close

• $1,200 for the first month of rent in a new place for me and my son

• $500 for the rental deposit

That’s $6,000 I need to come up with by July 31st just to move forward — and I’m completely overwhelmed.

I’ve been doing everything I can: working multiple jobs, selling everything I can, staying up late filming content just to bring in a little more income. But I’m still coming up short. The truth is, I’m drowning. I’m scared. And I’m exhausted.

This is not easy for me to post. I know there are so many people struggling — but I also know that sometimes it takes everything you have to just ask.

Update: I just got word that the buyers are now covering the cost of the termite treatment — which takes $750 off my total! I’m beyond grateful. That brings my new goal down to about $5,250 to cover the remaining closing costs, rent, and deposit for our new place.
