Alexandra’s battle with Multiple Sclerosis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alexandra. I was diagnosed with MS 15 years ago when I was just 22 years old. The medications they put me on caused me to have 2 strokes. The first one in May 2013 when I was 26 and the second in January 2015 when I was 28. I’ve been in a wheelchair since 2017. I was able to walk small distances with a walker for the first few years, but now the only time I really leave my chair is to bathe or go to bed. It has been a huge struggle throughout the years, but I’ve always managed and could deal with everything thrown at me. My family has always supported and helped me through difficult times. My condition has worsened significantly over the past six months or so. I actually saw a new neurologist and he said that I have one of the worst and most aggressive MS cases that he’s ever seen. I am in desperate need of equipment and monthly supplies that are not covered by insurance. I have exhausted all resources and don’t know where else to turn. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated. I have PCAs that come and help me, but I’m determined to live on my own as long as possible.
