Alexander Park Basketball Court Renovation

Devonte White’s goal is to ensure the youth of today have a safe space to play basketball and to bring togetherness within the community. Devonte alongside the Team Lawal Foundation is working to give an underprivileged community a newly renovated basketball court. Devonte grew up playing basketball at the park and has noticed the wear and tear.
1 goal is 9foot3 inches with bolts that come undone regularly, another goal is 10foot2.
The court has been the same for a little over 30 years with no real improvements besides the changing of a net or two.
Devonte’s goal is to raise $10,000 to implement new Versatile shock absorbing tiles as well as new basketball poles, rims and backboards.
With kids training at the park because of lack of funds to join an AAU team or go to an otherwise expensive YMCA, the basketball court serves as a medium for kids.
