Aleea, Jake, Lucy and Hunter - House fire

Donation protected
A fire destroyed a Baring home last night, Friday, Feb. 21st. According to Baileyville Fire Chief John McPhee, the blaze broke out around 8:30 p.m. at the home of Aleea Farnham and Jacob Sterner, along with 2 ½ year-old Lucy and 3-year old Hunter.

Chief McPhee said Sterner and his young son were home at the time of the fire, both of whom escaped without injury.

The fire is believed to have started near a wood stove. The home was a complete loss, and there were no injuries reported, according to Chief McPhee.

A family member told The Calais Advertiser, “The only thing Jacob saved besides getting Hunter and three dogs out was the ashes of Tom Farnham, [Aleea’s father].”
