We need your help. We're asking for donations to oppose two wrongly approved "Expanded Housing Option (EHO)" (formerly, missing middle) permit applications on 7th St S in Alcova Heights. THIS CASE WILL HAVE COUNTY-WIDE BENEFITS MOVING FORWARD. Let’s help establish a bright line for the minimum EHO requirements established by the County Board AND ENSURE THEY ARE ENFORCED. Do not let developers eat away at the minimum requirements. The Arlington community must now step up and ensure the County holds the line.
For the two Alcova Heights EHO permits, the applications do not comply with the EHO requirements established by the County Board. On 9/12/2023, each permit approved two 6-plexes on adjacent narrow lots, for a total of 12-units on two lots. We're calling on the County to revoke these permits and are appealing to the Board of Zoning Appeals. We're filing a fierce appeal! We're right. The approvals are clearly wrong. Help us help the County get this right!
[This case involves the by-right uses of a lot vis-à-vis the required minimum standards established in the Arlington County Zoning Ordinance, §10.4, Expanded Housing Option Development.]
