Hello, I am writing this on behalf of my aunt Leticia and her family. My uncle, Alberto, was detained by ICE Saturday morning, August 29th, on Haley St at 8:15am. He had just gotten out of work and was ready to head to his second job when all of a sudden ICE had him surrounded. He was pulling up at a bakery to get his usual breakfast to keep him full for a full day of work, when ICE pulled up next to him. He cooperated to avoid getting hurt like it’s been happening to others.

He is the sole provider, the pillar of the household and takes care of his two children, who are going through a struggle that no child should go through. From one day to another, they are now without the presence of their father, the one they would run to when he would arrive home, the person they shared their goals and accomplishments with, their protector. He is a key part in my cousins' lives, and they are now being affected emotionally. His wife, Leticia, my aunt, is currently in financial hardship since she will now be the provider of the family during this hard time. Due to her health issues, surgeries, and physical limitations, it has been hard for her to maintain a stable job.

I can testify to my uncle's character, which only shows love and compassion to others. He puts others before himself and wants to help in any way he can. He always sees light in a tough situation and encourages his family to push through and continue believing in God. We ask for the community's help in any way that is possible to help with legal expenses, rent and groceries. We appreciate everyone who is currently helping and will continue staying strong. Acababa de terminar su primer turno de trabajo y se estaba estacionando en una panadería para comprar su desayuno antes de dirigirse directamente a su segundo empleo. De repente, vehículos de ICE lo rodearon. Para garantizar su seguridad y evitar que la situación escalara, Alberto cooperó plenamente.Alberto es el único proveedor, el pilar de su hogar y un padre profundamente amoroso con sus dos hijos. De la noche a la mañana, mis primos han sido separados de su protector: la persona a la que corrían a abrazar cuando llegaba a casa y el padre con el que compartían todas sus metas y logros. Esta separación repentina les está causando una inmensa angustia emocional.Su detención también ha sumido a la familia en una crisis financiera inmediata. Mi tía Leticia ahora debe encontrar la manera de mantener el hogar. Sin embargo, debido a graves problemas de salud, cirugías previas y limitaciones físicas, le resulta increíblemente difícil mantener un empleo estable.Puedo dar testimonio personal del excelente carácter de mi tío. Alberto vive su vida con amor y compasión por los demás, siempre anteponiendo a su familia y a sus vecinos antes que a sí mismo. Incluso en los momentos más difíciles, él siempre encuentra la luz y anima a su familia a salir adelante y a seguir confiando en Dios.Pedimos urgentemente la ayuda de nuestra comunidad de cualquier manera posible para ayuda con gastos legales, renta y comida, ya sea mediante apoyo financiero o manteniendo a nuestra familia en sus oraciones.
