It's time for an Alameda Peeps Cash Mob!
We want to get these donations to the Food Bank in anticipation of the holiday season. Please join us in donating
In their words:
Founded in 1977, the Alameda Food Bank is a non-profit organization that helps Alameda residents in need by providing nourishing food in a compassionate and respectful manner with the support of dedicated volunteers and local partners.
Hunger can affect people from all walks of life. Many Americans are one job loss or medical crisis away from food insecurity – but some people, including children and seniors, may be at greater risk of hunger than others.
Alameda Food Bank serves over 5,000 individual recipients who are residents of Alameda. This is 7% of our population. We distribute more than 1.3 million pounds of food annually, with over 900,000 pounds of that coming from local grocers, farmer’s markets, the county food bank, and individuals.
