Hello, my names Abbi & I’ve decided to pop on a go fund me for a very selfless man named Al, who litter picks our village & surrounding areas by himself, off of his own back, in his own time. He makes such a massive difference to the area and gets it looking pristine. Many of you will have noticed the numerous black bin liners along common road when Al has been and tackled that area. He spends endless hours ensuring he picks every piece of litter & bagging it up. He litter picks many areas & paths throughout the village. I first met Al when he was litter picking along Common Lane & I spotted him along the bridle path on my camera, So I swiftly shouted him through my camera, much to his surprise luckily I didn’t give him a heart attack & thanked him for the amazing job he does (we laugh about the time the crazy lady shouted through the camera) , as I’ve wanted to many times I’ve seen him out in action with his litter picking stick but stopping on Common Lane is down right dangerous. Hence my go fund me idea to keep Al safe. Thankfully me and Al caught up in person & I can genuinely say he is a proper legend. He’s so selfless & just a super star. The latest catch up he told me how a lovely local business man had supplied him with a bright orange Hi viz so he is seen whilst litter picking & the council have supplied him with a new litter picker. He was over joyed. We have chatted numerous times about the amount of near misses Al encounters litter picking especially along Common Lane, as we all know the road it’s self is very busy & very fast. Thats when we got chatting about body cams and how they are a great idea. I would love as a community if we could show our appreciation to Al for what he does by raising funds to kit him out with a body cam. To keep him safe. He is such a selfless gentleman. And I just know he would be totally blown away. He picks up the unimaginable, needless, human waste, bottles of urine, lots of dumped alcohol & his latest he was flabbergasted by balloon gas canisters. He also mentioned people have started pipping him as a Thank you, which I love for Al. Bless his heart. I’ve researched body camera’s and there are so many options so i’m not 100% what amount needs to raised however every penny raised will be spent on the best possible body camera set up for Al. In my opinion Als a local super star who deserves a thankyou for his efforts on keeping our community clean. Please think about Al the next time you go to throw litter out of the window on your commute & watch out for our Al in action. Any donations greatly appreciated for Als body cam cause.
