The Akwesasane Freedom School is a Mohawk immersion school. Its mission is to sustain the Mohawk langauge and culture. LACS (Lehman Alternative Community School) and the Akwesasne Freedom School have a 20+ year connection.  LACS students colloborate with the Freedom School community to work on building projects, such as raised bed gardens, repairs to the playground, and much more. In addition, both groups get to know each other and the Freedom Schoolers visit Ithaca each fall.  All proceeds from the Go Fund Me page go directly toward the building projects.
