Help Akilah, Miya and Marco avoid homelessness

Hello Generous People!

I’m Kaila, and I'm organizing this fundraiser for my friend Akilah, who needs your help.

She's a single mom parenting a preschooler with sensory needs. She's an older sister who took in her younger sister, now in kindergarten, after her father died suddenly and unexpectedly. She works full-time as a phlebotomist, and a recent car accident jeopardized her ability to support her family.

Due to this series of crises, she has fallen behind in her rent. With donations, she’ll be caught up, but once she catches up, she will need to find a less expensive apartment. She is getting help with that from social services. She will need help to pay for move-in expenses for the new apartment, then she should be able to manage things from there. This is a sweet little family, precariously close to falling over the edge. They just need a little help to pull them back onto solid ground.

Thanks to a few generous people, Akilah now has a reliable used car for her daily commute, and can pick up the kids from daycare, so that is a HUGE relief!

My friend Akilah has the biggest heart. She works so hard to provide for herself and her family while caring for others at her hospital job. She radiates warmth and loving-kindness, and I want to shine some of that loving kindness right back at her, and show her that this community is here for her and her family.
