AKC Field Reps & Judging Ops laid off employees

11 Conformation Field Reps and 4 members of the Judging Operations Office Staff  at The American Kennel Club were laid-off Friday, April 3, 2020.  These co-workers of mine have dedicated many years and in some cases their whole lives to the sport of purebred dogs and the AKC.   They have served the sport and the judging community with great commitment and passion.  

In a few short weeks they will have no option but to provide their own medical insurance and the reality of the very-expensive COBRA is their option if they wish to stay on their current plan and/or their family member(s) have pre-existing medical conditions. 

All donations will directly assist those impacted with the unexpected cost to secure their medical benefits.  I will personally distribute the monies from the fund to re-reimbursement the expense to enroll in COBRA (or alternative benefits provider) to each of the affected co-workers upon verification of enrollment, and will continue to cover the monthly medical benefit expense until all funds are exhausted.       

In these critical times your contribution will go a long way in helping those who have committed their lives to support the sport maintain their medical insurance without financial hardship.  Please if you can, show your support to those who have supported the fancy for many years.
