This holiday season, Akana would like to benefit one of the communities we engage and raise funds for Lummi Nation Boys and Girls Club. Akana intends to raise funds to benefit the children of Lummi Boys and Girls Club and will coordinate with the club's director to determine the club members' greatest needs whether they be purchasing Christmas gifts for the children, supplies for the club, or gift funding for club improvements.
The PEER Committee invites you to donate to Akana's fundraiser for this tribal organization in an effort to uphold our company vision and values. We have an opportunity to give a little joy and relief where it is needed most this holiday season. Thank you!
About the club:
"The Lummi Nation Boys & Girls Club recently opened in the Bellingham, WA on the Lummi Reservation through a partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County and the Lummi Nation, the original inhabitants of Washington’s northernmost coast and southern British Columbia. The Lummi Club represents the 6th Native American Club to open in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County. The Club opened its doors on November 17th, 2017, and now averages over 60 Tribal youth per day. Led by Club Director Jason Brockie, the Boys & Girls Club has built a strong volunteer base which includes Tribal Elders, the Silver Reef Casino, Walmart, Buffalo Wild Wings and numerous individual supporters. The Club serves as a focal point in the community and includes a gymnasium, game room, computer lab and multi-purpose room. Club members participate in a variety of after-school activities, including academic support, board games, arts & crafts, outside games and fitness activities, basketball, flag football and a variety of table games including pool, ping-pong and air hockey." - https://bgcsc.org/clubs/lummi-club/
