Alternative Kilkenny Arts (AKA) Festival is a volunteer-led, community-driven arts initiative activating Kilkenny city and county each August. We provide an open-access platform for artists, makers and community groups to present free, inclusive cultural events in public and shared spaces. Through collaboration, grassroots organising and innovative programming, AKA strengthens local creative networks, supports artist development, and broadens access to culture. Our work champions participation, place-making and sustainable cultural growth across urban and rural Kilkenny.

This year, we are fundraising towards our core costs of developing and distributing our programme across the county.
