Give the Gift of Mobility!

The UBC Canadian Wheelchair Club is a group of dedicated youth motivated by the constant global need for mobility. Our club was started in March 2016 by a group of UBC students, when we realized the great need for wheelchairs around the world. Our club is partnered with the Canadian Wheelchair Foundation, which has the sole goal of providing wheelchairs to those in need in developing countries.

Starting in 2016, we have delivered over 40 wheelchairs to people in Uganda, Costa Rica, India and Guatemala.

The funds raised from this event will be used to purchase at least 10 wheelchairs to be delivered in late 2023.

Your Impact:

There are more than 100 million people around the world that need wheelchairs but are unable to acquire one because of limitations including financial instability, geographic isolation, increasing war and disease, and a lack of health care, all of which are more prominent now than ever.

All too often, people with disabilities in developing countries lack the tools to reach their full potential, and their family members are often forced to forgo education in order to properly take care of them.

By providing financial support, you are liberating people bound by their disabilities and opening doors for their lives: all through the donation of a wheelchair.
