Making Baby Sohal IVF Journey

Our IVF Journey to avoid a genetic disease...

Dear Family & Friends,

I want to share that medical technology entered my life immediately. For those who don't already know, I was born premature weighing in at only 3 pounds. After giving birth to me, my mother found out her kidneys were failing. There is an unfortunate genetic disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease in our genes. My grandmother (deceased), mother (alive and on dialysis for 32 1/2 years), aunt (deceased), uncle (alive due to kidney transplant) and first cousin (diagnosed and living) have all been affected.

In 2013, I received a report which changed my view of the world forever. I too, discovered I had this disease diagnosed with the help of ultrasound technology. My kidneys are functioning without the need for a dialysis machine for now despite the presence and random growth of cysts on both of my kidneys.

One day it means my kidneys will eventually stop working and dialysis treatments will be needed every other day for hours at a time to have toxins in my blood filtered out in order for me to stay healthy. Although this was hard news to make sense of, I knew not to fear it because my mom has proven that possibilities are endless even with this illness.

My heart is heavily dedicated to pursuing this IVF journey because this is my window of opportunity to create a legacy before it is too late. However, We are in financial need as I am helping both of my parents & Ajays fighting in court to gain custody of his daughter, Reyna. Ive also applied for grants to help with costs. It wasn't until I joined an IVF group where the idea set in to create this account. We are very grateful for any support even if it is only emotional support that you're able to give at this time.

My husband, Ajay, is everything and more that I could ask for. I truly want to make him feel complete with a child of our own. As a wife, it is my desire to give him a baby if God wills it!

After several detailed appointments, my genetics team helped to conclude that if theres a time for me to proceed with IVF, it is absolutely right now.

With every ounce of my being, it is my wish to prevent this disease from interfering with future families. I want to put an end to this draining disease & be living proof that with humility stems bravery. My emotion for this settles deeper than the obvious reasons to wanting IVF. No matter the consequence of the journey, I want people to remember the selfless act in which two people who love each other greater than there are words took a chance to make a difference and try to make a "baby Sohal" of their very own to live his/her best life.

We understand our goal is a big reach and we appreciate any donation even if it is a small amount. A little will go a long way and we pray your act of kindness comes back tenfold!

Note: If donating, be sure to select if you want 100% of your donation to go towards us or else a small percentage will be given to gofundme directly (this setting can be seen when using an Internet browser to view our page).

With Hopeful Hearts,

Nicole & Ajay
