Aiven's Journey
Aiven. Gift of God. River. Little Archer. Mover and Shaker of all things. Stable & Balanced. Powerful & Complete.
Hi, my name is Brittany, and I'm fundraising for my sweet baby girl cousin, Aiven. In my family, when you only have 4 cousins, you rally together and take care of each other in the hardest of times. We often say, "oh that could never happen in our family", but then one day, you realize that it has. One of the most difficult things about hard times hitting your family, is that you are often desperately lost at what you can do to help. So here I am today, sharing my family's story and asking for your financial consideration to help our sweet Aiven.
My cousin Theron, his wife Devon and their sweet 2 year old daughter Rowen live in the beautiful town of Bozeman, Montana. They are wonderful and dedicated parents. Family is the core of everything they do. They enjoy the great outdoors and are proud business owners. Their family grew when they found out that they were pregnant with another little girl. While the excitement grew for this new addition, so did Devon's anguish over her long and difficult pregnancy, which resulted in the early arrival of their sweet babe. Theron and Devon gave birth to their daughter Aiven on July 1st. Through Aiven's premature birth and many long days in the NICU, they have discovered that Aiven has developed a food aversion. For one reason or another, Aiven is not eating like she should, which puts her at a high risk of not getting the appropriate nutrition she needs for survival. Aiven's medical team in Bozeman has exhausted their options and has advised that she be transferred to Billings, Montana to get a new set of eyes and to assess for further options. Further medical treatment may include continued Nasal Gastro feedings or a possibility of a Gastrostomy tube. The family is hopeful that Aiven’s medical team will find the best way for her to receive the nutrition she needs to continue to develop and find the strength she needs to leave the hospital for the first time.
Aiven is such a strong and beautiful baby, however, this next stretch of her journey is going to be a difficult one. Theron and Devon will be by her side for the next several weeks recovering from surgery and understanding how to transition into this new medical role. This is an extremely costly financial situation, not only because of the mounting medical expenses, the cost of travel and accommodations but also because this will leave them both out of work for an extended period of time. As a business owner, this puts an extra heavy strain on their family.
Please help me send Theron's family all the love and support that they deserve. Having a NICU baby during the peak of a pandemic is a trauma that is difficult to describe. Having to deal with financial hardship is a burden that we can all help carry for them. My cousin is one of the most humble, honest, hardworking men I know. He is a devoted husband and a father that loves will all his soul. Theron would never ask for a thing from anyone, and yet would be the first one to give to someone else in a time of need. I'm hoping that today, we can do the same thing for him and his family.
