BagnoMaria è uno spazio trans* queer non commerciale di socialità e cultura a Milano ed è un percorso collettivo aperto e in divenire. È un’associazione no profit creata da persone trans e queer per persone della comunità queer della città. Lo spazio ha aperto a maggio 2024 e in questi mesi abbiamo offerto gratuitamente laboratori di cucito, presentazioni di libri e sessioni di ascolto e di disegno dal vivo, ospitato eventi di gruppi e collettivi che avevano bisogno di uno spazio accessibile e sicuro, sostenendoci solo con i tesseramenti dellx nostrx associatx. Immaginiamo infatti lo spazio il più possibile orizzontale e slegato da logiche di consumo e profitto. Questo però richiede e ha richiesto un grande sforzo per riuscire a sopravvivere finanziariamente di mese in mese. A volte di settimana in settimana.
Vogliamo continuare a offrire lo spazio con nuove attività alla nostra collettività e a portare avanti BagnoMaria, come progetto comunitario trans autogestito, ma abbiamo bisogno di supporto. Crediamo nell’aiuto reciproco in una città come Milano dove prevalgono logiche di consumo, sfruttamento e privatizzazione, rendendo inaccessibili spazi pubblici di aggregazione e socialità per molte persone queer e trans. In Italia e in diversi paesi occidentali stiamo assistendo ad attacchi politici nei confronti della comunità LGBTQI+ da parte di governi a stampo fascista e ultraconservatore, che rendono sempre più difficile la sopravvivenza e il benessere della nostra comunità.
Il nostro sogno è riuscire a far vivere BagnoMaria e a renderlo un punto di riferimento per la comunità trans e queer di Milano! Apprezziamo l'enorme supporto che riceviamo da tutte le persone che vengono nel nostro spazio e che ci hanno aiutato in questi mesi, portando materiali, mobili e assistenza tecnica: senza di voi non saremmo stati in grado di rendere BagnoMaria il luogo accogliente che è!

SUPPORT BAGNOMARIA - TRANS QUEER SPACE IN MILAN, ITALY
BagnoMaria is a non-commercial trans* queer space for sociality and culture in Milan and conceived as an open and evolving collective project. It is a non-profit association created by trans and queer people for people in the queer community of Milan. The space opened in May 2024 and in these months, we have offered free sewing workshops, book presentations and live listening and drawing sessions, hosted events for groups and collectives that needed an accessible and safe space, supporting ourselves only with the memberships of the association. We imagine the space as horizontal as possible and detached from logics of consumerism and profit. However, this requires and has required a great effort to survive financially from month to month. Sometimes from week to week.
We want to continue to offer the space to our community with new activities, and to carry out Bagnomaria, as a self-managed trans community project, but we need help. We believe in mutual aid in a city like Milan where logics of consumerism, exploitation and privatization prevail, making public spaces of gathering and sociality inaccessible for many queer and trans people. In Italy and in several Western countries we are witnessing political attacks against the LGBTQI+ community by fascist and ultra-conservative governments, which make it increasingly difficult for our community to survive and thrive.
Our dream is to be able to keep BagnoMaria alive and make it a safe and pivotal space for the trans and queer community of Milan! We appreciate the enormous support we receive from all the people who come to our space and who have helped us in these months, bringing materials, furniture and technical assistance: without you we would not have been able to make BagnoMaria the welcoming place it is!
