✈️ Why I’m Fundraising for Air Defender
Hello, my name is Allan Akers, I’m an RAF veteran with a background in communications and radar operations, and today I’m combining my 20+ years of digital expertise with my lifelong passion for aviation to create something unique: Air Defender.
Air Defender is not “just another game”. It’s a serious, highly realistic military radar simulation — built to capture the intensity of Cold War-era air defence and modern air surveillance in a way no other game has attempted. It draws on my RAF experience, real-world symbology, and authentic scenarios, offering players a chance to step into the role of a radar operator making split-second life-or-death decisions.
This project is deeply personal to me. I served in the Royal Air Force, worked on real-time radar and data links, and I’ve always wanted to share that hidden world with others (within the Official Secrets Act).
Air Defender is my way of keeping those skills and stories alive — while inspiring a new generation of players who are curious about aviation, defence, and strategy.
Why I Need Your Help
Building a game like this takes serious time and resources. To bring Air Defender to life, I need funding to cover:
Software & Development Tools (Unity licences, server costs, AI/data integrations)
Artwork & Assets (aircraft models, radar symbology, maps, user interface design)
