We tend to handle our family issues within our circle, but we quickly realized that this goes far beyond our pride. On February 22nd, late at night, the unthinkable happened. Our families' lives have changed forever in ways that are challenging to comprehend. My family lived similar lives to ours, living in a modern city, dining out on weekends, going to the movie theaters, talking about their futures and dreams with friends, complaining about having to get up to work, etc. Everything they were accustomed to had been threatened when explosions rocked their lives in their city. This scenario is hard to imagine but a reality for many Ukrainians and the survival situations they now must endure are a nightmare. My family has been displaced, hiding in their basements/make-shift bomb shelters, without heating/electricity, and fighting the war effort. Ukrainians can no longer pull money from their accounts and must rely on what money they have stored in hand and what limited food stores they have kept open. Certain members of my family require additional support items like food or medicine when their stores run out or possibly require help to resettle if they escape to Poland. I'm requesting from all of you to help our family in their struggle. If making donations directly to us makes you uncomfortable, I urge you to donate to one of the many foundations below that are helping Ukrainians.
