He uses the court system the same way he once used his words and hands—weapon after weapon—trying to break me emotionally and financially.
Recently, a CPS case was opened against him and a teenage boy in his home for physical and sexual abuse involving my children. Imagine being a 5-year-old girl, sitting in front of strangers, being expected to disclose trauma she’s terrified to speak about. She shut down. The case was marked “unsubstantiated,” but a lack of disclosure doesn’t mean a lack of truth. While CPS was investigating, I kept my children home for one weekend because my instincts screamed that they weren’t safe. For protecting them, I was charged with contempt and ordered to pay his $1,500 attorney fees—as if caring for my babies was a crime.
I am raising two traumatized children and I’m doing everything I can to keep them safe, supported, and healing. But now I am forced to fight a legal battle I cannot afford. I need an attorney to appeal this conviction and to continue standing between my children and the people who hurt them. I am asking for help because my children need me to keep fighting for them. I will never stop protecting them—but I can’t do this alone.
