Aid the Aguilar Family in Overcoming Severe Water Damage

In August/September of 2023 my parents house had a pipe burst; we had no idea until they were given an extremely high water bill they are still paying off. On top that, the instillation of a ‘shut off valve’ had to installed to help detect where a different leak was coming from. Once that was found they had to pay another fee to have a ‘water pipe’ installed in the yard. Since that incident, part of the floor around the house has begun to literally fall apart. The water leak started under the kitchen; causing the tile in the house to crack and break. The leak then ran through our laundry room causing the floor to become damaged. The leak continued to flow through the house into the master bathroom. The leak has caused my parent’s toilet and the floor beneath, to sink into the ground. Every-time you step near the toilet you will cause an indentation. Just recently after almost a year of fighting the insurance, my parents were finally able to get a contractor to come fix the floors. Upon attempting to start the process, one tile showed black mold. Hoping it was only a tiny spot, we were later informed that our entire kitchen even leading into our living room is covered in black mold. The black mold is so bad it looks like someone sprinkled manure all throughout our house. As my parents continue another fight with the insurance, we feel it is unsafe for not only us but for our pets to remain in the house for the time being. Getting out of the house as soon as possible is the biggest priority for us; for everyone’s health in the house as the mold is now exposed because we don’t have a kitchen floor. Not having a kitchen floor also means we have no kitchen.

My parents are very, very hardworking individuals who have helped my siblings and I throughout everything. They are very supportive, kind people. Even with me and my siblings trying help financially, it’s still a burden financially and mentally, that is hard to watch family go through.
